Well Pad Visualizations for Ski Area

Description: Compton Petroleum retained Tesera Systems Inc. to create a number of 3D visualization of planned well site locations in proximity of the Whispering Pines Ski Area, Worsley, Alberta.  Tesera acquired and prepared data, rendered visualizations and produced overview planimetric maps.  The images were well-received by both the client and primary target audience – the Worsley Clear Hills Ski Club. This project helped to alleviate public concerns that a skier’s visual experience may be negatively impacted by the planned locations of the well sites.

Scenario Planning, Spatial Modeling and Visualizations

Description: The BC Ministry of Forests retained Tesera Systems Inc. to develop, with the involvement of local interest groups, a series of future forest scenarios for the Robson Valley Enhanced Forest Management Pilot Project (EFMPP).  This was a large scale project involving multiple stakeholder facilitation, consensus-based scenario development, spatial modelling/forecasting, and analysis components. A wide array of social, economic and ecological objectives were encompassed in the project. Tesera's responsibilities include facilitation of all planning sessions with local interest groups, preparation of all the data inputs necessary for building and forecasting scenarios, modelling/analyzing and reporting on scenario outcomes, 3D visualization of selected viewpoints under different scenarios, and preparing the total product to support more detailed future forestry planning in the Robson Valley area. A significant subcomponent of the project was to develop an animated visualization movie showing how the landscape could potentially change over time based on the different management options and emphases formulated during the planning component of the project.
